In my line of work, I need people to listen to my self-declared identity, and believe it, to let me into my targets’ spaces. When gatekeepers say mean things to me like “hey, you’re not my usual driver” or “this is a restricted area sir” I get very annoyed. Just because I’m there to commit so-called “physical violence” (which is nowherenear as bad as the very literal violence these people conduct against me by asking to check my ID), it’s no reason to exclude me.
